Auditions for The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

You are invited to attend auditions for the UT Dallas Fall 2008 production of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a new stage adaptation of the 1920 Expressionistic film classic. This film is regarded by many as the first horror movie ever made. Adapted and directed by Thomas Riccio.

Dr. Terranova will give a talk about a series of photo-text pieces by Dan Graham, Paul McCarthy, Dennis Hopper, John Baldessari, Richard Prince amd Robert Smithson. Join us at Centraltrak for a talk on the "automotive prosthetic" and view from the road taking form in a series of Conceptual art works made between 1963 and 1975. Dr. Terranova will offer a new interpretation of Conceptualism based on the body and perception as opposed to semiotics and linguistics.

In The Arena, Manuel Pecina uses imagery derived from past collective experience and existing in the individual. The artwork projecst a few typical archetypes most common in our lives, and displays human form doing everyday things, nothing and something.
Geomorph: Rethinking Landscape and Unit 9: Introducing Sunny Sliger

A mixed-media show focusing on varied representations and embodiments of “landscape.”
Artists include Peter Ligon, Mark Schatz, Lisa Nersesova, Lanie DeLay, Mike Westfried and Jim Malone. Sunny Sliger makes cascading tendrils of flowing form out of scraps of fabric.
